Consistently on course for the future with stainless steel processing

1972 The foundation

The company was founded by Hans Jung on January 1, 1972. In the early years, metal and stainless steel machining was still carried out using conventional lathes. The first orders for plant construction and shipbuilding, which were still widespread in the Hamburg area at the time, were realized on this technical basis.

High-quality machining and the smallest possible tolerances

The strategy that demanding quality work will result in equally demanding contract work was successful. Orders for the navy followed soon from the shipyard segment. Spare parts with the production claim "in the middle of the tolerance", which had to withstand even the strictest quality tests.

Greater process reliability thanks to CNC production

For Hans Jung, entrepreneurial foresight and a willingness to take risks were closely linked. At the end of the 1970s, one of the first modern CNC machines in northern Germany was installed, in which the CNC programs were still transferred using punched tape.

Launch into new sectors and component assembly

One of Hans Jung's basic principles was to start exactly where others left off. His penchant for precision, his technical curiosity and his close and cooperative partnership with customers soon took him to the next level. The company specialized in the food and beverage industry. The industry's high quality standards in terms of precision and the demand for high-quality raw materials coincided with the requirements that Jung & Co. placed on itself. In the meantime, 12 employees were already working at the company in Kummerfeld near Pinneberg. In addition to contract manufacturing, the company began assembling components. This meant that, in addition to individual components, complete, ready-to-install modules could also be supplied, for example in valve technology for the beverage industry.

Our specialty: stainless steel processing

The foundations for Jung & Co.'s expertise in stainless steel processing and the manufacturing know-how of high-quality, hygienically demanding materials as well as the "authorization to restamp" were laid decades ago.

1990 Responsibility for the future as a training company

In the course of the 1980s, Hans Jung decided that the company should also take responsibility for training young people. It was also a personal concern of his to convey his own enthusiasm for the profession and to offer young people a future. In the same decade, further new paths were taken: in close and trusting cooperation with clients, Jung & Co. was now also able to offer design support. Material and product knowledge resulted in fruitful synergies. The company developed and by 1990, 20 people were employed.

1994 Relocation and certified quality management

In 1994, the previous location on the main road in Kummerfeld became too small. The move to the new buildings in Auweg began in 1995 with 35 employees, who were now also working to capacity with orders from the automotive industry. As a logical consequence of the quality-oriented company philosophy, a quality management system was set up early on - despite the manageable size of the company - and certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 in 1996.

1997 Expansion with service for beverage filling lines

In 1997, FAS Füllanlagenservice GmbH was founded, offering service for beverage filling lines. With the precision manufacturing of Jung & Co. in the background, it was also possible to build up a spare parts supply that is able to realize even unusual special solutions within a very short time. For more than fifteen years now, well-known companies in the beverage industry have been among FAS's worldwide clientele.

2005 Healthy growth and state-of-the-art CNC technology

Jung & Co. has consistently invested in the future at all times. Innovative CNC machines and machining centers were installed several times in Kummerfeld, the first in northern Germany. In 2005, the company had 55 employees and the quality principle remained unchanged. The know-how was appreciated on the market and new sectors, such as the oil industry, were opened up.

2009 Foundation of Jung Process Systems GmbH

In 2009, Jung Process Systems GmbH was founded, so that today we can rightly speak of the Jung Group. Jung Process System develops and sells hygienic stainless steel screw pumps worldwide under the brand name HYGHSPIN.

2014 Anke Jung leads Jung & Co. into the next phase of the company

Anke Jung, daughter of the company founder, began her career at Jung & Co. back in 1996. She joined the management team in 2001 and has managed the company together with Hans Jung for the last 15 years. Since 2014, together with experienced managing directors, she has continued the company's course with great consistency, innovation and foresight.

2016 Jung & Co. sets a strong course for the future with additive manufacturing and the construction of an additional hall

Additive manufacturing with a focus on stainless steel, titanium, aluminum and steel is a future-oriented extension of Jung & Co.'s range of services for all those tasks where conventional manufacturing methods reach their limits. Innovative laser sintering enables the complex production of highly intricate contours, geometries and all types of free-form surfaces. To install this and other production technology, it was necessary to expand the premises. A new hall with a total area of 1,200 square meters for assembly and testing stations as well as for parts storage was therefore inaugurated in 2016.
